CANCELLATION POLICY

When you reserve a regular lesson time with a BFSM teacher, that time is held specifically for you for the duration of the term. We understand that things come up from time to time, so we aim to provide as much flexibility as possible while also protecting our teachers' scheduled teaching time.

Cancelling or Rescheduling a Lesson

If you are unable to attend your lesson, please give your teacher at least 24 hours' notice.

With 24 hours' notice, your lesson may be cancelled or rescheduled to another available time.

If less than 24 hours' notice is provided, or you do not attend your scheduled lesson, the lesson fee will still apply and the lesson will not be rescheduled.

If you are unable to attend in person but are still able to have your lesson, you may arrange with your teacher for the lesson to be delivered online.

Please contact your teacher as early as possible to organise this.

Regular Lesson Times

Students who reserve a regular weekly lesson time are committing to that time for the term.

If attendance becomes irregular or there are ongoing cancellations, BFSM reserves the right to offer that lesson time to another student. Wherever possible, we will discuss this with you before making changes to your regular booking.

We understand that exceptional circumstances arise. Please speak directly with your teacher if something unexpected is affecting your ability to attend lessons so we can discuss the options available.

Refunds & Credits

Lesson fees are non-refundable.

Where appropriate and agreed with your teacher, lesson fees may be credited or a lesson rescheduled. Credits may also be able to be used towards another BFSM lesson, instrument or student.

Lessons cancelled part-way through a term are not eligible for a cash refund.

PAYMENT POLICY

Payment is due prior to the commencement of each lesson unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed with BFSM.

Payment options may vary depending on your teacher. Please refer to your invoice for the payment methods and any payment arrangements applicable to your lessons.

Students may pay lesson fees weekly or in advance for the term unless otherwise arranged with their teacher.

If payment falls into arrears, BFSM reserves the right to cancel future lessons until the account has been brought up to date.

AWAY POLICY

We understand that families sometimes take holidays during the school term.

If you are going away for up to two weeks, your regular lesson time can be held for you. Please provide your teacher with at least 24 hours' notice for each absence.

If you will be away for more than two weeks, payment for the additional lessons will be required if you would like BFSM to continue reserving your regular lesson time.

Where possible, these paid lessons may be rescheduled to another suitable time during the term, subject to your teacher's availability.

Alternatively, you may choose to cancel your regular booking while you are away and contact us to rebook when you return. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee your previous lesson time will still be available.

SICK POLICY

If you know you are unwell 24 hours or more before your lesson, please cancel or reschedule your lesson with your teacher.

We appreciate students staying home when unwell to help protect our teachers and other BFSM students. Singing students experiencing a sore throat or vocal illness are also encouraged to rest their voice until they are comfortable singing again.

If you feel better in time for your lesson, you are welcome to contact your teacher to see whether your original time or another suitable time is still available.

If you cancel within 24 hours of your lesson, or do not attend your scheduled lesson, the lesson fee will still apply.

If you wake up unwell on the day of your lesson but are still well enough to participate, please contact your teacher as soon as possible to discuss having your lesson online instead.

We always aim to be reasonable and flexible when unexpected illness occurs. At the same time, our teachers reserve regular lesson times specifically for their students, so our cancellation policy allows us to manage those teaching schedules fairly and consistently.

If regular weekly lessons don't suit your circumstances, please speak with us about whether casual lessons, subject to teacher availability, may be a better option.
