ABOUT ME

Bachelor of Music – University of Melbourne

Bonnie plays many instruments, but her favourite is definitely the drums. She loves teaching drums and making lessons fun, engaging, and accessible for students.

Bonnie believes everyone learns differently, and as a neurodivergent teacher herself, she enjoys working with each student to find the learning approach that suits them best. She loves seeing students shine on the drums in their own unique way, while making sure they get to play the music they enjoy. At the same time, Bonnie ensures students build strong technique and musical foundations along the way.

Bonnie performs with her husband Matt in their bass and drums duo, Palpitations, blending heavy rock, prog, metal, and funk. She also incorporates drum synths into her playing to expand the band’s sound.

Outside of music, Bonnie loves spending time with her big fur baby Leslie Knope-Claypool, a golden retriever × border collie who is impressively clever at learning tricks — including closing cupboards.

📍 You can find Bonnie teaching in Room 1 on Thursdays and Fridays.
