Bachelor of Applied Music – Box Hill Institute

Lachie’s love for drumming began during his high school years, after being encouraged to play in the school musical. Throughout high school he studied with Rob Brens and Ryan Menezes, two highly regarded professional drummers in Melbourne.

Lachie completed his studies at Box Hill Institute in 2019, studying under Tony Floyd, Dave Beck, and Robi Parolin. In his final year he was nominated by the university to participate in the Future Leaders Jazz Award 2020. Shortly after, he was selected as the winner and invited to perform at the 2020 Ubud Jazz Festival in Bali.

Lachie has now been playing drums for over 9 years and regularly gigs around Melbourne with jazz, pop, and funk groups. He is a creative and unique musician who continues to explore new musical ideas and concepts.

Lachie has four years of teaching experience and believes learning the drums should be an exciting and rewarding experience. He strives to make lessons engaging and fun, inspiring students’ love for music.
